Lia On Board With Stringer Motorsports
September 1, 2010 (Mooresville, NC) As luck would have it for both Stringer Motorsports and the former two-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Series Champion and current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Driver Donny Lia, both had openings in their remaining 2010 NCWTS schedules to come together and partner for a few of the remaining 2010 races with Lia driving the #90 Toyota for Stringer Motorsports led by Crew Chief Trip Bruce beginning this weekend for the Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers at Kentucky Speedway.
"Donny is a proven two-time Champion in the NASCAR Whelen Series and working together with another proven Champion Crew Chief Trip Bruce and all the guys on our #90 Team should prove to be an exciting time this weekend". Says Doug Stringer. "Donny is a great addition to our Stringer Motorsports team along with our other driver Brad Sweet who will soon be featured once again in the #90 Great Clips Racing Truck".
"I am really looking forward to this opportunity to work with Crew Chief Trip Bruce and the guys at Stringer Motorsports." says Lia. " I am thankful for the opportunity that Doug Stringer is giving me to drive his #90 truck, and I couldn't imagine being able to work with a better group of guys as I try to reach my personal goal of being successful in this series with solid finishes and hopefully some more wins in this truck series. I have been plagued with some bad luck in the trucks this year, and hopefully we can turn that around and bring home some solid finishes in the #90 truck. I am looking forward to soaking up the knowledge from Trip, since he is a proven winner, and hopefully I can begin to experience the same success in the truck series as I have in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series over the past couple of years. I only have one previous start at Kentucky Speedway and although I find the track itself is a rough track, I enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out the best way to maneuver my way around it". Said Lia.

We have a great group of guys that dedicate themselves to this team and my car chief Donnie Tarantino comes from a Modified background like Donny Lia does, so this should be fun working with him". "The last time I was at Kentucky in the truck series, we won in 2008 with Johnny Benson, so a repeat of that would be awesome. Donny Lia is a great driver and this Stringer Motorsports Team is looking forward to him driving our truck". Says Crew Chief Trip Bruce.
The green flag for the Built Ford Tough 225 presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers is scheduled to drop at 8:00 pm EST. Racing coverage will air live on SPEED and MRN. SPEED will begin their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Set Up show at 7:30pm and MRN coverage will begin at 7:45pm EST.
