Donny Lia Looks to Let it Ride at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

(Huntington, NY) The bright lights and fast past action of the Las Vegas strip adds the speed and roar of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this weekend. Donny Lia and Stringer Motorsports, fresh off a 12th place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, are ready to hit it big at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"It's Vegas! It's such a fun place to go to for so many reasons," says Lia. "Who doesn't like the bright lights and excitement of Las Vegas? It's also a very exciting race track. To be honest with you, I always had New Hampshire circled on my calendar, but Vegas is actually a close second for a lot of reasons. I like the city and really like the track. I have family out there and am looking forward to having them at the track with me. Plus, we have a lot of momentum going after our effort at New Hampshire. "

That momentum has come quick for Lia, who has raced within the top-ten in his first two-races in the Stringer Motorsports #90 Toyota. At New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Lia fought within the top-ten for much of the race and came home with a 12th place finish. The run was a big-shot in the arm for the two-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Series champ and his new team.

"It feels real good to run like we did in New Hampshire," admits Lia. "What feels even better is that we did it after struggling during practice. We made huge gains throughout the two practice sessions that got us to where we could compete in the top-ten during the race. We had so much work to do to just get to that point. So much work, that we actually never even made a mock qualifying run during practice. I'm just so proud of how hard all the guys worked in New Hampshire. They busted their butts to get to where we could be competitive so it was real rewarding to get a finish like that. We have momentum and a positive attitude and it's got us moving in the right direction."

Lia wants to continue that forward progress at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He is no stranger to success in "Sin-City." Lia scored a 10th place finish in his lone appearance there in 2008. He hopes his second trip to the strip pays even bigger dividends.

"We are very optimistic going into this weekend. Vegas is the only mile-and-a-half track that I have a top-ten finish at, so I know I can get it done there. Trip Bruce (crew chief) and I seem to be getting along really well and I am enjoying working with him. We really want to keep building on the gains we've made as a team over our first two races together."

"We really enjoy working with Donny and are looking forward to taking our #90 Stringer Motorsports Toyota to Las Vegas with him. He is showing great consistency with our team and working hard on being able to describle what he is feeling on the track. The modified's he is used to running are such a different style of racing, and I understand the challenge he is facing with learning a new vehicle in these trucks." said Crew Chief Trip Bruce.

After New Hampshire, Donny now has three 12th place finishes in the Camping World Truck Series in 2010. He looks to improve upon that at Las Vegas Motor Speedway starting with practice on 9am (local / pacific-time) on Saturday, September 25th. Qualifying is slated for 3:30pm and green-flag for the Smiths's Food & Drug Stores 350 is at 6:30pm. The race will be televised live on SPEED and broadcast on MRN Radio.
